WORKING ON THE WATER

When I was young, I decided that I was going to stay in Northern Neck and embrace this rural, coastal life.

My best friend and neighbor introduced the idea of working on the water as commercial crabbers. That spring we found ourselves rising before daybreak to spend the early morning on the Rappahannock River. We continued this venture until November. It was not a financial success and maybe not as romantic a vocation as we had envisioned. However, it was an amazing experience with a magnificent backdrop and a few breathtaking moments.  See the article below.
